Switching to the new website

There has been a massive amount of data that has had to be aligned between how and what we used to recieve for the decs and results and how we do now through the Racing Post API.

Through some of these changes, some of the results on the new system builder and your saved systems, won't match exactly with what your current results are. However, we have got most if not all of these within what I in particular would consider a reasonable difference.

The number of bets and winning strike rates seem very close as well as profits/losses even if they don't match exactly. 

Main differences are the trainer and jockey names, due to how they are written. Run style figures, down to a difference in in running comments and something I still want to improve on - headgear and horse sex (especially Mares and Fillies).

There can also be a difference in some cases in at what time the results/data was added to the sites database. Currently I add these between around 4pm and 7pm, whereas on the new site, the data is sent more regularly, many times a day through the API.

Examples

For example I just checked a saved system I have with trainer names.

On the current site I get 2311 bets, 23.84% strike rate and a profit of £491.48.
On the new site I get 2319 bets, 28.24% strike rate and a £491.55 profit.

Another that uses Run Style 4 in particular.

On the current site I get 14,883 bets, 13.03% strike rate and a profit of £994.48.
On the new site I get 14,144 bets, 13.04% strike rate and a £877.51 profit.

Null bets

When you check any of your systems on the new site, make sure that you have the Null setting in the panel at the top to 'Include Nulls'. This is because the current site has no option to Exclude Nulls, so you need to have these aligned before you test.

Testing your systems

There is no way I can test every combination or know what your system rules are, so when we switch sites, it would be worth checking your main system results against the new set up to see what differences you get.

On the run style example above, there are less than 5% more bets on the current site than the new one. If you find a system you have has a much bigger difference in any of the summary stats, I would appreciate it if you could let me know.

Headgear

Note that on the new site, if you want first time headger, you will need a group rather than just the one rule.

So for first time cheekpeices for example. Add a group and inside the group, a Headgear rule - select CP for cheekpeices and a Headgear first time rule - select True.
