Prediction Cards Results Update

I have been posting these prediction cards since the beginning of October 2025, in the hope that they may give something extra to benefit subscribers.

Briefly, as you can see on the image below, they contain five columns for Going, Distance, Course, General and Form and each horse is then given a label for how it is percieved that the horse should be regarding it's chances.

All images can be clicked to enlarge them.

There is a bit more than just the obvious reading of the form that goes into these, especially the General and Form fields which then cross references and makes some clever calculations over a number of factors. A label is then allocated for each factor and from these labels a Total Score is given, with 10 being the highest down to a minus figure.

You can download a text file here with the key to these cards plus additions as they happened >>

You also have the horse preceded by the saddlecloth number and draw in brackets if it is a flat race. The Master speed ratings with the top three highlighted in red, followed by the number of runs the horse has previously had, the number of wins and then the + or - to the horses last winning official rating, in the same race code. So matching all weather only or flat turf only as well as jumps codes.

Finally the Jockey, their runs to wins in the last 12 months, an A/E fihure and finally an I/V figure where anything over 1 is better than expected.

Below each card is a pace chart with those expected to lead having a longer visual line, with a score of 1 being for an out and out front runner, down to a max of 4 for a horse very likely to start slowly.

For flat races there is also the percentage of winners for each stall for the same race type and distance, with all those 10% or bigger highlighted in blue.

Okay, so that wasn't quite as brief an explanation as I intended, but hopefully you can see what the cards can offer. These are posted on the Downloads page on the menu, once logged in for subscribers.

Added results

What I have done is added the finishing position for each horse, the starting price and the starting price as a decimal, to all past cards up to a couple of days ago when I ran this through. These are just on my copies of the race cards but it allows me to run some queries against past race cards.

You can see the finishing position, SP and SP decimal odds on the right hand side of the race card on this example below.

I only added the Master speed ratings on November 17th 2025, so I have only added the results from that date and have run a few queries on all the cards since then, to come up with some statistics.

Statistics

What I have done is split the races into handicaps and non handicaps, to show the results for all Total Scores from 10 down to -5. Then run some queries on the top 3 Master speed ratings, the top 3 favs in the betting forecast, then horses in handicaps only and the official rating difference.

These are divided into those with a +5 or bigger to their last win in the same code, those between -3 and +4, those at -4 or less and those with no number, meaning that they haven't previously won a handicap in today's race code.

I won't show all sets of results but first off these are all handicap races with no filters. Just the win% and profit/loss to SP for each Total Score

So apart from score 10 itself, you can see that the win% drops nicely as the score gets lower, down to an average win% of 3.9 and a big loss to those negative scores.

This would give some proof that the basic idea of these cards are 'working' as these scores are calculated purely from the rules I have set in place for each field.

If we then compare this to those filtered by the top 3 speed ratings, you can see that the scores of 9 and 10 give an average of 23% strike rate and whilst a profit backing all wouldn't be expected across any of the filters, there is a minimal profit from these two overall.

Remember these are just the scores filtered only by the speed ratings, with no other filters, such as official rating to last win, jockey, trainerform and more.

So with a little effort you could improve on the win% and profits being more selective.

Backing those that were not top 3 rated by the speed ratings and that had a negative total score, has given 716 runners, a tiny 3.9% strike rate and a loss to SP of over 350 points.

Difficult to know what the BSP's would be on these as we only have the SP but the possibility for laying these perhaps, or at least avoid backing these runners for sure.

Non handicaps

Whilst non handicaps can include a number of races with little form to go on as well as conditions races, graded races and others, the strike rates at the top end for these races are very good indeed.

Close to a 40% strike rate, despite only a few qualifiers, from scores 9 and 10.

Non handicaps with those rated top 3 by speed ratings, show a similar set of results but a better win% overall from those scoring 10 down to 8.

There are some interesting results from these queries that I have run and if you want to see them all then click the link below.

Summary

So we only have three months of results here, so there is little to go on so far and no flat turf results at all. I will be updating these stats and results every three months or so and that will give more depth to the results.

However, with the rules that I have put in place for each of the five form fields - Going, Distance, Course, General and Form - the results are pleasing enough in that the higher scores generally have the higher win percentages.

Also you can imagine that the small losses shown for the higher scores could easily be turned in profit using the Betfair odds and this is something I would like to add and look at next.

Overall it would suggest that concentrating on the top scores will be where most of the winners will be found and if you want to access today's predictions cards, January 19th 2026, then you can do here.

If you want get these daily then you will need to subscribe here and then you will find the prediction cards on the Download link on the menu, once you have logged in.
